Regulations

We are committed to provide a unique sauna experience where everyone can enjoy and relax in a comfortable and happy atmosphere.

To ensure the well-being of all of you, we have established the following set of guidelines, which we kindly ask you to respect and abide by. Together we create the environment Rune Sauna proudly stands for and everybody enjoys.

Respect others

Everybody is welcome at Rune Sauna, no matter their backgrounds or cultures. Treat fellow sauna-goers with kindness, respect and consideration. Embrace diversity and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for everyone. We don’t tolerate any form of harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior. We strive to foster a space that is free from negativity and judgment. If you feel treated in a different way or you notice anything, which doesn’t contribute to those guidelines, please reach out to us immediately.

Personal Hygiene

Maintain proper personal hygiene at all times. We’re not asking you to take a shower right before entering the sauna, as we can not provide shower facilities yet. But still we ask you to take own responsibility to always enter the sauna in an adequate clean manner. In addition follow these rules:

  •  wash your feet in the bucket provided before entering the sauna
  •  sit or lay on a towel at all time

Make sure you keep the sauna clean at all times and always leave it like you found it. So everybody can enjoy the same comfortable atmosphere as everyone else does.

Booking

You have to book your session time prior to your visit. Prices might vary.  Follow the instructions and find the latest information on our booking page on the Rune Sauna Website. We only accept bookings, which are made on our booking platform. You’ll receive a booking confirmation. Have that one with you, when you visit.

Aufguss

A bucket with mixed Aufguss is provided by us. The crew doesn’t do Aufguss at all times, we want you to help yourself. But before you do so, make sure that you won’t bother others. Find the right timing and comunicate before you do so.

Only pour the provided ‘sauna water’ on the hot rocks and do it gently. Splashes might burn your skin. Only water is allowed, anything else destroys the sauna stones and can be dangerous.

Swimwear

Only step into the sauna wearing your bathing suit, bikini or swim shorts (or similar). It is strictly forbidden to visit the sauna naked. We advise you not to wear anything too thick. It doesn’t let your body breeze enough and can cause circulatory or similar.

Cool Down

You are invited to relax in front of the sauna, inside our lounge or use the public swim area at Kiellinie to plunge. If so:

Listen to your body. If you decide to swim in the Baltic Sea, you do so at your own risk. Remember that it’s public, so there will be other swimmers.  Watch out for anybody else. We remind you that by using the swim area you are leaving the Rune Sauna premises, committing to the “Kieler Bäder” rules and confirming their conditions.

Food/ Beverages (Alcohol)

Refrain from bringing any food or drinks into the sauna room. Anywhere else is permitted, we just kindly remind you that the lounge is not a kitchen or picnic area. Of course you should bring your water bottles, always store them somewhere safe and stable. If you consume alcohol please follow our alcohol guide and the safety instructions.

Session Time

One Rune Sauna Session is 60 minutes long. That is enough time to heat approximately two to three times. On a normal day a session starts every full hour and ends the following full hour.

Arrival

The time when one session ends and the next session starts is always the busiest. For a smooth transition, consider the time of your arrival to be early enough. That helps not to interfere with people who are about to finish their session. Refrain from entering the sauna before your booked session time starts. Everybody shall be able to experience Rune Sauna to the fullest.

Notice: Rune Sauna doesn’t take any responsibility, if you miss out any time of your session, due to late arrival. Consider everything mentioned above and take changing time into account as well as queues at our facilities.

End Of Session

Like on arrival, respect the time of guests after yours and finish your booked Sauna Time punctual. Don’t decide to extend your booked time. It’s not fair and can cause queues and a full sauna, which leads to stress and an unrelaxed experience of others. When leaving, take all your belongings with you.

Cleanliness and Maintainance

Keep the sauna area clean and tidy. Please use the designated bins to dispose of any trash or waste. If you notice any spills or damages please inform us, so we can take care of it immediately.

Safety

The safety of our guests is our priority. Make sure you have read the safety instructions and adapt to the rules.

Case Of Emergency

In any case of emergency inform a member of the crew, if possible. Continue by following the steps of the emergency plan.
